Are you buying as a consumer or as a business?

A consumer is a natural person buying for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession. Everyone else — companies, sole traders, farms and other organisations buying for their activity — is a business customer. The distinction is set by Article 2 of Directive 2011/83/EU, not by us, and it decides which of the two columns below applies to you. Buying in a company name, or giving a VAT number at checkout, means you are buying as a business.

Consumers (private individuals)

Tell us this when you write:

  • Your order number, if the question is about an existing order.
  • The part number from the old component, or a photograph of its data plate.
  • The make, model and year of the machine.
  • Your cancellation and warranty rights are on the Returns and refunds page — 14 days to cancel, two-year statutory warranty.

Business customers (B2B)

Tell us this when you write:

  • Company name and VAT number — they go on the invoice.
  • The part number, and the quantity you need.
  • Whether you need several items shipped together.
  • Business terms differ: no 14-day cancellation right, 12-month warranty, returns only in the original undamaged packaging — see Returns and refunds.
